To setup an NVIDIA Shield with Flirc, use the Flirc GUIs NVIDIA Shield. Selecting Escape here takes you directly to the home screen thus bypassing the ability to go back to the previous menu. Below is what I experienced trying to set up Flirc on the Fire TV.Įscape works fine for Android apps when going back to the previous menu and when stopping a video. The biggest problem is the Return key can not be mapped to work with both Escape (Android apps) and Backspace (XBMC) like the way the Fire TV remote works. This is where help is needed in a way of a possible keymap to include Backspace which actually does stop XBMC from playing when selected. But when backing out of a show playing in XBMC the show continues to play and not stop. Hitting OK/Select starts the app fine but when trying to select a picture, the OK/Select button on the Harmony does nothing. The stock Fire TV controller layout in Flirc works as it should. Easiest way to check it is to select the Amazon Photos app. I can see XBMC woking if you were to use it exclusively and not utilize the Android apps (Netflix, Amazon, PBS.) side of things along with it. Harmony Remote OK/Select Button not 100 working - primarily, but not limited to, Amazon apps.
